The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Homer can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Caspar Weinberger

Dick Homer was a very strong willed and opinionated man. I sat with him at his house for dinner one night where we argued politics. He could be cantakerous but he was a living legend on the Island and I respected him greatly. His late wife, Rocky, was also a good friend to me in her later years, saving me from no doubt infections in my leg from a bad bruise I received leaping out of a boat, and did nothing about until she insisted I seek treatment. Thank goodness for that! Suzie, you were a dear lady to look after your parents so well and for so long--believe me I know all about that! Here's to a great family who helped indeed to keep the rich traditions of MDI alive and sparkling.
