Obituary for Moira C. Creaser

Surry
Moira Creaser, 98, died January 30, 2015, at her home in Surry, Maine. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, January 27, 1917 the only daughter of William H. and Minnie C. Creaser. She lived in the Detroit area until 1979, when she moved to Surry, where she had summered since 1956.
She received her B.A. at Hillsdale College in 1938, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education in 1942, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration in 1966, both from Wayne University in Detroit. She taught early elementary grades in Berkley and Detroit Public Schools, was Assistant Principal at Alec Dow Elementary School, and Principal of the Warren E. Bow Elementary School with an enrollment of 1000 students, for 13 years. After retirement from the public schools, she worked for Michigan State University in Teach Education. She was interested in the welfare of children, reading, gardens, and being with friends. Please support your local school.
Moira belonged to the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill, the Jonathan Fisher Memorial, the Surry Improvement Association, and Surry Garden Club.

Moira is survived by cousins in England, Canada, and Australia.
