Condolence: Joanne, Deb , Calvin and families,
I just heard of Mel's passing and I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I am sure that Dad and Mel are helping out in heaven doing odd jobs and having a great time together while Mom is trying to keep them in line.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Condolence: Dear Joanne and Family, I was so very sorry to hear of your terrible loss. Mel touched many lives, including all of us who worked at Sylvia's. We will miss his positive and reliable presence. I especially appreciate the personal interest he showed in others. In a world where many are self-absorbed, Mel stood out as one who thought about other people. Even though I was rarely the one who waited on him, he always greeted me and had something to say. Since he knew I take the Blackswoods Rd. on my commute to work, he would often ask me how my travel "through the woods" was that day. Sometimes, it wasn't very good. It was so nice feeling that he cared. As I now contemplate the way he treated others, I am inspired to try to be a little more like him. I find comfort in the promise at John 5:28, 29 where Christ said; "...the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs wil hear his voice and come out..." I have confidence that God has the power to undue all the grievous damage caused by death. I certainly hope you will find peace and comfort in the days ahead. Sincerely, Heather Tenan

Condolence: Just heard of Mel's passing. I want to say to you Calvin, your Dad was one great person! When I was changing my business and had very few customers, Mel stuck with me, and kept good care of my customers as well as my truck. I always appreciated his professionalism and his concern and caring for the business. I was very fortunate to have quality employees like Mel. It was a lucky day when I met him. He will be missed!

Condolence: May the family continue to rely on God, the Hearer of prayer, for help in your time of mourning. (Psalm 65:2) The help God supplies through prayer does make a difference. While it does not eliminate the pain, it makes this sad and difficult time easier to bear. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your loved one, Melvin.

Condolence: To the Anderson Family,
We were saddened to read yesterday of Mel's passing. We ran into him a few months ago at Sylvia's. He was Mel being Mel -- on his way to help someone complete some project! Never one to be idle. He will be missed but always remembered as a good man with a big heart and a devilish grin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
