Obituary for Lucille Addie Jordan

WALTHAM Lucille Addie Jordan, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 17, 1935 in Waltham, the daughter of Newell, Sr. and Mercy (Fox) Hardison.
She attended the Waltham grammar school and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1953 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was an amazing woman who raised five mama’s boys, worked at Stratton’s, delivered mail, picked potatoes and most memorable of all she cooked for 30 plus years at Cave Hill School. Her love for all children was abundant. Lucille could be found at camp during the summer for the last 50 years with her family on Molasses Pond. She always enjoyed having all the family near and their morning coffee/breakfasts together. She was “One of a Kind”; she loved her family and was a true Boston Red Sox fan. If a game was on, she was watching. A special “Thank You” to her friend and chauffer, Juanita Wilbur. She always enjoyed the girls day out to lunch, or for appointments and of course, BINGO.
She is survived by four sons. Harvey M. Jordan and his wife, Debbie, Gary Jordan and his wife, Vicki, Joseph Jordan and his wife, Mary, Kenneth Jordan and his wife, Diny, all of Waltham; a daughter-in-law, Luann Jordan and her husband, Duane, of Waltham; 16 grandchildren who will miss their “Gram”, Michael Jordan and wife, Lisa, of Monmouth, Tina Buteau and her husband, Jamie, of Waltham, Karen Thibeault and her husband, Jack of Hancock, brothers; Travis and Shane Jordan of Eastbrook, Andrea Noddin and her husband, Nick, of Surry, Chadd Jordan and his wife, Kara, of Waltham, brothers; Ian and Alec Jordan of Waltham, Morgan Jordan of Tremont, April Salsbury and her husband, Jason, of Waltham, Brian Jordan II of Waltham, sisters; Andrea and Renee Workman of Waltham, Tony Jordan of Surry and Adam Jordan of Waltham; 12 great-grandchildren who will miss their “Camp Gram”, Brandon, Rebecca and Katie Jordan, Ryan and Jordan Buteau, Jackson Thibeault, Olivia and Colby Noddin, Lincoln Jordan, Kaylee Phippen and Leah and Lydia Salsbury; a brother, Richard Hardison and his wife, Evelyn, of Waltham, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Harvey H. Jordan, of 52 years; a son, Brian Marshall Jordan I; three sisters, Mary Wilbur, Ethel Surles and Beulah Herbest; a brother, Newell Hardison, Jr.
Calling hours will be held 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Jordan Fernald, 113 Franklin Street, Ellsworth where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 7th with Pastor Robert Maddocks officiating. Burial will be in Waltham Hillside Cemetery in Waltham directly following the service.
