Georgiana Jankura

I am so sorry to hear of Loretta's passing. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. I have some fond memories of Loretta: Babysitting for baby Sherman when Loretta lived in her Bridgeport apartment; having a fun visit at her Rhode Island house; and most of all, driving up to North Penobscot in our old VW camper when Dustin was just a baby (in 1980?). Loretta was "living off the land" and in the process of building her new home. The inside walls weren't up yet, but the kitchen must have been functioning enough to have the best roast pork dinner ever! Uncle Dave was laid up with a broken leg(?)from an accident he had while building the chimney. I was so impressed how Loretta made us feel so welcome even though things must have been a little hectic at the time. I wish I had been able to spend more time with Loretta. She was a kind and adventurous woman and a combination of the best qualities of the Phoenixes and the Jankuras all rolled into one! She will be sadly missed.
