Condolence: Having worked with many Vietnam Veterans as a healthcare provider, I never met a man like Lance, and I think I can say that Lance gave our clinic and me more than we ever gave him. His generosity was immense, and it didn't matter if you were religious or not, his incredible faith in "The Lord" touched everyone he met. He was a tireless advocate for veterans; he battled his own demons of war but was always guided by a power greater than himself. I wish I could have seen him one more time. I still listen for the sound of his bells.

Condolence: Lance was my uncle, Stephen Leffel was my father, his older brother. The last time I got to see Uncle Lance was at a family gathering for my Grandfather Emmett. He was always my favorite uncle because he reminded me so much of my dad. Happy hunting Uncle. Save a seat for me.

Condolence: Rest at peace now Uncle Lance,
John 14:1-4 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”
I'll see you there dude!

Condolence: To Lance's family I offer my deepest sympathy... May the fond memories that you shared bring you comfort. I wanted to share a thought that I thought Lance would appreciatate, as he had such a open heart and mind.
The man Job asked (Job) "If an able bodie man die, can he live again?" Happily Jesus answers in John 5:28-29 "Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out, those, those did good thing to resurrurection of life" Imagine a resurrection back life right here on earth. Psalm: The righteou themselve will posse the earth . And they will reside forever upon it.

Condolence: Lance was my brother-in-law and we only spoke long distance by phone. I remember the first time he rang us in the UK. It was 4 o'clock in the morning here and Doug was still asleep, I was still half asleep but Lance was full of the joy of life as he always was. We had a long talk at the end of which he asked me if i would pray with him. We said The Apostles Creed together; I think he was surprised I knew it! Doug flew to Tennessee some time later and together as brothers they took the long journey across country to Oregon to see their father Emmett in the Vets Hospital. We loved Lance and our family were shocked and saddened at his death. He was a 'one off' and they broke the mold when he was made. God sure will have him sitting at his right hand. God rest your soul Lance; we loved you.
