Condolence: Joyce family, Gladys and Bradley lived down the street from us when I was a child on Swans Island. I just recently learned about her passing. I loved that family very much and they very kindly put up with the little monster that I was. Gladys was a kind, loving lady and I have always missed visiting her since I quit making trips to Swans Island. I also miss seeing you David and Annette. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless. Knowing your family has enriched my life.

Condolence: Sending along our thoughts to the family. Over the past 45+ years, we have spent many happy days on Swans Island as guests of Gladys and Bradley. "Mom" was always welcoming to us, our children and our granddaughter, and she always made sure there were crabmeat sandwiches for Gary, the only seafood he ever ate!
She will be missed.

Condolence: To all of the family, especially David and Phillip, I'm so sorry you've lost your dear mother. I didn't realize our mothers were born the same year, but yours outlived mine by nearly 13 years. What a sweet lady she was. I always remember her kind smile and voice and am so sad to hear of her passing, though faith tells me we'll all meet again someday. I have commitments on the 6th, so I can't be at the service, but I'll be thinking of you and praying.

Condolence: Gladys was a strong, kind, and always welcoming lady, who loved her home, her church, her garden, and her family and friends. In her older years, she received wonderful care and attention from her family. She passed from their loving arms into the Arms of Jesus. Our thoughts, hearts, and prayers go out to Gladys' family and to so many who have been enriched by her life. Max and I send our deepest sympathy and our love. Meredith

Condolence: Hello! My grandmother was also Gladys Joyce of Swan's Island. She went to high school in Rockland Maine where she met Thomas Chisholm and married him. Her oldest son was named Donald Joyce Chisholm. He and his wife Margaret had seven children the oldest was me and I was named Joyce Marie Chisholm. I married Davide Southard and had two children-a girl Sarah-Joyce Chisholm Southard. She is going to have a child in July and I was honored when she said she was going to mane her daughter Joyce. So the Joyce name continues in many places. Our thoughts are with you all.
Sincerely, Joyce Southard
