Edward F. “Teddy” McFarland, Jr., 81, died unexpectedly on July 1, 2014 in Ellsworth. He was born May 24, 1933, eldest son of Edward and Jasmine (Higgins) McFarland, Sr.
He is survived by his first and second wives, Mary Rodick McFarland and Laurianne Higgins; children, Priscilla McFarland of Ellsworth, Diane Dill of Dover-Foxcroft, Edward
McFarland III and wife Cindy of Southwest Harbor, William McFarland and wife Joy of Lincoln, Nebraska, Michael McFarland of Ellsworth, Andrew McFarland and wife Jackie of Fitchburg, MA, Helene Charette and companion Cary Kelley of Harmony, Lisa McFarland of West Orange, NJ, and Gail Wallace of Deer Isle; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard and wife Bobbi McFarland of Surgoinsville, TN, James McFarland and wife Paula of Phoenix, AZ; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Betty Jellison and Janet Mitchell; brothers, Arthur, Eugene, David and Paul McFarland.
The family would like to thank Dr. Haynes and Dr. Kinbrook for their compassionate care of Edward.
A Celebration of Life picnic will be held at Thompson's Island on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 1:00-4:00 pm, rain or shine.
