Obituary for Dorothy Jose Hatch

Dorothy Jose Hatch, 93, died June 4, 2013 at the Barron Center in Portland. She was born April 29, 1920 at the Maine General Hospital in Portland the daughter of Charles A. and Ora B. (Davis) Jose of Buxton, Maine.
Dot, as she liked to be called, graduated from Buxton High School and Gorham State Teacher’s College. She taught in the elementary schools in Saco and Portland. She loved her career in teaching, and several of her former students kept in touch with her by inviting her to lunch yearly until just recently.
Dot was predeceased by her husband, Charles Hatch who died in 1989. She is survived by her cousins Joyce and Wayne Jose of Buxton; her stepdaughter Deanna Hatch LaCasce of Ellsworth; three step grandchildren, Professor Joseph LaCasce of Oslo, Norway, Ann LaCasce, MD of Boston, and Barbara LaCasce of Ellsworth.
The family wishes to thank the excellent staff of the Barron Center for her care during her illness. They also thank the wonderful people of Park Danforth Retirement Center for making her life there such a pleasant one.
Interment will be in her family lot at the South Buxton Cemetery in Buxton, Maine. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
