Obituary for Charles K. Leland

Ellsworth
Charles K. Leland, 93, died April 08, 2014 at his home. He was born in Somesville, December 25, 1920, son of Roy and Ada (Brown) Leland.
Charles attended elementary and high school in Somesville and attended Husson College for two years. He served in the US Army during WWII in England, France and Belgium. Charles married Edith M. Wilbur who has been his companion and wife for 61 years. He was a furniture and cabinet maker. He enjoyed time with his family camping, and traveling with his beloved wife and collie dogs. He also enjoyed working in his yard in CT and ME, helping at the food pantry and was an avid Celtic and Red Sox fan. Charles attended the Congregational Church and Unity, read extensively and was a spiritual truth seeker.
He is survived by his beloved wife Edith; son, Tom MacDonald and wife Jane of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Joanna MacDonald and husband Brendan Clarke, Malinda Buswell and husband Ted, Emily Nesbitt, Stephen MacDonald and wife Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Audrey, Daniel, and Olivia Buswell, Mary, Sydney, and Hope Nesbitt, Obi Clarke; several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Nelson C. Leland.
A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hancock in June.
