Condolence: It has been nearly 5 years since we lost Alice Ann. Dan and AA grew up together in Wellswood and we reconnected at the CHS 10 year reunion in Tampa. Both families lived in SC and we made numerous trips to visit at the beach and then we tried to make a yearly journey to Maine.. AA and I hit it off and became such dear friends. The days at the lighthouse, the trips to the artist's showings, and the writers series and concerts are imbedded in my heart. There are so many differewnt books I pick up in our home and athere is a message from AA with a little heart beside her signature. Rest i Peace AA and know you will always be loved.

Condolence: Thinking of Alice Ann today with fond memories of sharing Camden at Christmas and all the wonderful places to eat there, clotted cream, Hurds farm jam, her much sought after advice on which programs of the Santa Fe Symphony I would enjoy, the Christmas Eve's at Arborvine and with her family in Brooksville, her lovely cards and emails.
All this is missing this Christmas but I will always have the wonderful memories of a most special lady.

Condolence: What a special woman who is gone way too soon. She had an amazing essence that shined a bright light on those she loved and touched - that light still shines even though she is not with us in person. Her warmth spread to all who knew her! She was true blue, thoughtful, witty and always made you feel special - I loved talking and spending time with her. Her house and home was always welcoming and beautiful. She loved life and Alice Ann was one of those rare people who could enjoy living in the moment and appreciate all the small and simple things - a flower, a breeze, a poem, a smile, a touch, a laugh. She is and will sorely missed by so many who loved her. I think of her island often and feel thankful that I was able to spend time there with the family several summers ago. Thinking of Jim, Curtis, Melone, Bo and Grace with much love and sympathy.

Condolence: The term 'friend' is thrown around loosely these days as is even 'dear friend'. Alice Ann was a dear friend, and it looks like her relatives and other friends know exactly what I mean. She more than weathered life -- being gifted with that sharp wit of hers and persistence. She found humor and poetry in the everyday -- and oh so many ways to be useful and caring. When thinking about 'authentic' people in my life, Alice Ann will always be remembered and missed.

Condolence: Alice Ann's passing is really a deep loss for anyone who knew her. Our relationship started at Oak Grove Jr. High here in Tampa & through Chamberlain High & USF. She had my father, Raymond C. Pratt, Sr. as a teacher at Oak Grove.. After that Alice Ann was ALWAYS his favorite pupil of all time. Since we were all from Maine, originally, we traveled yearly to visit relatives, etc. We found ourselves in Blue Hill (planned on my part) in 1999. I called Alice Ann & she was thrilled & invited us to visit her! The afternoon & evening was a thrill for us, especially my dad & mum. We had a lovely meal of steak & lobster & met Melone and others. The next year my dad died, but that memory was very special to him! That was the epitome of Alice Ann! My prayers are with Jimmy & the rest of the family!

Condolence: As a childhood friend of Melone and Curt, I remember Alice Ann Madix as a great mother who always welcomed me in her home with her family. She made her home so beautiful yet comfortable. I remember her laughter most of all. I feel terrible for the family's loss. She will be truly missed. Love you all.

Condolence: Jim, Melone, Curt, Grace - What a beautiful family tribute to Alice Ann, a truly remarkable lady. When my Mom passed away years ago, AA's presence provided a comforting strength to me. She and I shared a love of "all things Westie." Her caring spirit, sense of humor, and zest for life remain an inspiration to me. I will truly miss her wonderful emails and delightful cards. Treasure all of the wonderful memories and how very much she loved and cherished her family.

Condolence: What a beautiful tribute to my special Cuz who will be greatly missed. Even though we were many miles apart, we were very close in our hearts. Alice Ann was such a vivacious lady, so giving and I know she continues to soar. I will miss her cards, emails, phone calls and most of all her zest for life. My heart and love is with my "Cuz'n" Jim and family
