Seal Cove
Yvonne “Bonnie” Julia (Butler) Black, 73, died peacefully in her sleep at home on May 16, 2015, after a long battle with C.O.P.D. She was born October 9, 1941 in Seal Cove, the daughter of Harland S. and Agnes M. (Harper) Butler. She was the oldest of 10 children.
Bonnie was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Southwest Harbor. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and loved her music and her animals.
She is survived by her siblings, Carroll and Sue Butler, David and Sherri Butler, Andrew and Doreen Butler of Seal Cove, Peter Butler and Marie Jenkins of Hancock, Mildred Butler of Seal Cove, Rose Sargent of Gouldsboro and Molly and David Jones of Stonington; children, Blaine Hall and partner Holly Wood of Portland, Keith and Rose Peterson of West Tremont, Chris Peterson and Vanessa Pinkham of Seal Cove, Melissa Brewer and Jeff Sawyer of Bass Harbor, Elizabeth Austin and Dean Murphy of Eastbrook and Maryellen and Al Webb of Ellsworth; multitudes of nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and Rose Sargent and Adam Lewis of Gouldsboro. Very special thanks to daughter, Melissa and granddaughter, Natalie for being able to care for Bonnie during the final stage of her life.
Bonnie is predeceased by her loving husband, Richard G. Black; both parents; two sisters, Minnie (Butler) Scott Henderson “Queenie” and Gwen Butler; a son, Robert Allen Hall.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert with Reverend Mary Carol Griffin officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor.
