Condolence: 'Twas my Uncle Sonny who tapped the Carey's to run their Oakes dining room and I thought that the Coughs were hard to work for (just kidding)
I had fun times working with Joyce and Bill (and daughters)there
Hard workers, all of them.
I have much older fond memories of buying penny candy and Archie and Richie Rich
comic books for 12 cents and lazing the day away with my affordable stash
from Carey's. I still call it Carey's too. Always will
Nice family, all of you. Take care.

Condolence: Bill Carey was SO very sweet and kind to me "back in the day" when he operated the Mary Jane Restaurant and I co-owned Kiss radio. I remember his ready smile and good nature. I re-introduced myself to him recently at a YMCA blood drive, and am SO very glad to have had the opportunity to reconnect. I am SO very sad to learn of his passing and my prayers go out to his entire extended family at this very sad and stressful time. We are all better for having known this lovely man!

My heart goes out to you, your children, and your childrens' children. I am saddened to learn of Bill's death. Nan Lombardi told me yesterday. We will send a memorial in his memory to the Y. But I wanted to express my sympathy as soon as possible. Please know that you are all in my prayers. With my love and deepest sympathy. Betty Cough Donlan (you know how much we all appreciated the two of you and your work not only at the Oakes but for your contributions to the entire community of Bar Harbor.

Condolence: Joyce, I am sure you don't know me but Bill was my godfather. I have not seen him in many years but I remember his perpetual smile. I have not lived in Bar Harbor for a long time but when I visit I still call the store on lower Main St. Cary's. God bless you and your family.

Condolence: Dear Joyce, Annette, Tammy, Cindy and Billy and your families,
We are so very sorry about the loss of your Dad. Although we did not have the pleasure of knowing Bill, it is so very obvious how many lives he touched in his time here on earth. Wishing you love and comfort at this time.

Condolence: Bill Carey was as much a part of growing up in Bar Harbor as any memory I have. He always had a smile on his face, and a kind word for all.
He will be greatly missed, and fondly remembered.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Condolence From: Nancy and Art Corliss
Condolence: No words can express the sadness we feel about Bill, and our heart goes out to Joyce and all the family. Nancy was blessed to have worked for you both all those years at the Mary Jane. I hope the kind and fair way you treated me as an employee is transferred to the work I do today.

In the later years, we have always counted on you as good friends, and particularly loved the summer boat ride last summer around Union River Bay. It is a cherished memory. Nancy's mother and son Ryan all express their sincere sympath.
Please call on us if there is anything we can do, Joyce.
Love,
Nancy and Art
