The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wilfred Bunker can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Sydney Roberts Rockefeller
Condolence: The Great Harbor Maritime Museum created an exhibit of Bunker and Ellis where we learned about and appreciated all the Bunker family. Wilfred was a favorite of ours. A lovely, gentle human being.

Condolence: Another wonderful local character lost! I, like so many others, spent a fair amount of time with him on the boat, and he was always so funny and great to be around. A truly great loss for all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with the family as you go through this trying period. Know that he is in good company still and will be in our hearts and memories always.

Condolence: Wilfred was a neat guy to know. He was always upbeat, happy and charming to his passengers. I worked summers at Manset Marine in SW Harbor and he came in often and loved to banter and quip about the little things of life. He handled the boats beautifully and seemed to enjoy all aspects of of the business. Fun gut to see coming in the door. Sorry to see his passing.
