Obituary for Veronica L. Dodge

Little Deer Isle
Veronica L. Grindle Dodge 68, died unexpectedly March 11, 2014, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born December 26, 1945, in Castine, the daughter of Herbert R. and Matilda “Tillie” (Hardy) Grindle.
Veronica graduated from Deer Isle High School, class of 1964. Following graduation, she attended beautician school, and later attended UMO where she earned her BA in business. She owned and operated The Crab Shack, Reindeer Wreaths, and Dodge Accounting Services. She enjoyed kayaking, gardening, knitting, and following the high school basketball teams but favorite role was that of grandmother to Despe, Jadyn, Levi, Josslyn, and great- grandmother to Devlin.
She is survived by her mother, Tillie Grindle of Little Deer Isle; daughter, Ronda Dodge of Hermon; son, Carroll Dodge Jr. and his wife Kellie and their children, Jadyn, Levi, Josslyn of Dedham; granddaughters, Despe Dodge Lebel and her husband Fred and their son, Devlin of Brooksville; sisters, Judy Eaton of Little Deer Isle, and Linda Closson of Brooksville; brother, Kevin Grindle of Little Deer Isle, Honory Granddaughter, Genevieve Shepard; and many nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Carroll L. Dodge; father Herbert Grindle.
A service of remembrance will be held at Saunders Memorial Congregational Church in Little Deer Isle, March 30, 2014 at 2pm. A reception will follow.
