Obituary for Thomas Miller

Southwest Harbor
Thomas Irvin Miller, 73, died February 17, 2014 at his home in Southwest Harbor, Maine. He was born December 15, 1941 in Lewistown, PA, the son of the late Richard and Claudine (Goss) Miller.
Tom graduated from Lewistown High School, Lewistown, PA in 1959. He received his Associates Degree from Reading Business School, Reading, PA. Tom was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in the Korean conflict. Prior to his recent move to Maine to be near his daughter Abigail and her family, Tom’s home was in Central Pennsylvania. He grew up on Green Avenue in Lewistown and ran Miller’s Greenhouse in Lewistown after the passing of his father, Richard. He owned and operated Amity Hall Antiques and New England Brass Company. A master carpenter and clocksmith, he spent his life indulging his love of history through collecting, refurnishing, and occasionally parting with antiques. Tom is remembered by all who knew him for his unreserved wit, charm, and larger-than-life personality.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Roberta (Rehm) Miller; four daughters, Abigail Ames and husband Geoffrey of Southwest Harbor, Rachel McGill and husband Keith of Austin, TX, Kristina Machusick and husband Tom Eberlein of Camp Hill, PA, and Nicole Machusick of York, PA. six grandchildren, Garrett and Grady Ames, Arlo and Everett McGill, Cara Meglio and Seth Kodner; two brothers, James Miller and Richard Miller; and one sister Jayne (Miller) Priar.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am on February 28th at the Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, 611 South in Lewistown, 611 South Main Street.
Memorial donations in Tom's name may be made to the Great Rivers Affiliate of the American Heart Association, 5455 North High Street Columbus, OH 43214.
