Obituary for Rose Mary Kief

Rose Mary (Martin) Kief, 91, beloved mother went to be with her Lord and Saviour, October 21, 2015 surrounded by her children. She was born November 07, 1923 in Hancock, the daughter of Guilford and Beatrice (Martin) Moon.
Rose attended Hancock and MDI schools, graduating from Hancock High School. For over twenty years, she owned and operated Hancock Upholstery catering to not only locals but to many summer residents. Rose was an active member of the Hancock Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother (Proverbs 31:28) who lived out her faith with compassion and thoughtfulness for friends, relatives and neighbors.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Gatcomb and wife Marcia of Hancock, Pamela Saffell of IN, Gerald Kief, Jr and Tessie of Surry, Marjorie Dyer Butler and husband Ernest of Hancock, David Kief and wife Lynn of TN, Mary Card and husband Malcolm of Dedham, Kathy Carter and husband Richard of Hancock, Timothy Kief and wife Christina of Hancock; daughter-in-law, Marsha Gatcomb of Hancock; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Hardison of Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews; She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Kief, Sr; daughter, Angela Joan Kief, and son, Dewey Gatcomb; brothers, Harley and Leslie; and son-in-law, Robert Saffell; three grandchildren, Jean Ann, Matthew, and Teddy, and great-grandson Hunter.
Visiting hours will be held 3:00-5:00pm, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth. A funeral service will be held 1:00pm, Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Hancock Baptist Church, 224 Eastside Road, Hancock with Pastor David Morrison and Pastor William Sommerville officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hancock followed by a private family gathering.
