Obituary for Robert Eugene Reed

Ellsworth
Robert Eugene Reed, 65, of Ellsworth, died suddenly on April 10, 2012 at his home. He was born in Bar Harbor, August 22, 1946 the son of Wesley E. and Minerva (Knowles) Reed.
Robert grew up in Southwest Harbor and graduated from Pemetic High School. He served in the Army from 1966-1968. He met his wife, Alana Richards in 1969 and they were married on July 2, 1971. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1974 and remained in until 1988. He enjoyed watching shows and reading about history and science fiction. He loved fishing, sunsets and always spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Alana of Ellsworth; father, Wesley of Winter Harbor; brother, Ronald L. Reed of Glenburn; sister, Debra R. Sanner and husband Walter of Southwest Harbor; brother-in-law, Steven A. Richards of Killeen, TX; and will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his best friend, Sage the Pomeranian. He was predeceased by his mother, Minerva; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willis (Billy) and Carolyn R. Murphy.
Services will be announced at a later date.
