Trenton/Bar Harbor
Robert E. Clark, 92, passed away peacefully in Hulls Cove on Friday, September 7, 2012. He was born on December 15, 1919 in Bar Harbor to Oscar E. and Elizabeth (Eveleth) Clark.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Army and spent his time during World War II building airports in North Africa. He retired after 25 years of service as an engineer for the State of Maine Highway Department. During his retirement he worked on the grounds crew at Kebo Valley Golf Course and then the Bar Harbor Golf Course. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and was recognized for 50 years of service to that organization in 2007. He became active in the Anah Temple Shrine in 1971 and was a member of the Anah Flag Unit from 1982 to 1988 and served as their Unit Captain from 1984 until 1988. He served as an Anah Aide from 1990 to 1993 and participated in the Anah Lobster Boat Unit from 1994 until 2000. Bob was very proud of his family and took great joy in the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Marsha Sawyer of Trenton, Michael and Mary Clark of Salisbury Cove, Gary and Diane Clark of Trenton, Neila Lake of Ellsworth, and Susan Clark and David Dick of Newport, VT; his grandchildren, Adam Sawyer, Wayne Sawyer, Kristie Clement, Michael Clark, Daniel Clark, Scott Clark, Maeghan Pratt, Jeremy Clark, Terhas Clark, and Gabriel Clark; his sixteen great- grandchildren. He leaves his brother-in-law and his wife, Bruce and Nancy Cameron of Trenton; and sister-in-law, Anna Fernald of Isleford. He was predeceased by his first wife, Allena Crockford Clark in 1958; his wife Norma Cameron Clark in 2002; a great-granddaughter, Haley Diane Clark in 1998; and his son-in-law Harrison Sawyer in 2009.
Bob and his family will always be grateful for the patient and compassionate care shown him by the staff at Birch Bay Village. They made the final years of his life the very best they could have been.
A memorial service will be held this fall.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 pm, Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at Trenton Baptist Church, 949 Bar Harbor Road, Trenton. Interment with masonic services and military honors will follow at Leland Cemetery, Trenton.
