Obituary for Robert Gordon Bruce

Robert Gordon Bruce, 67, died August 18, 2009 at his residence in Franklin. He was born in Harrisonburg, VA, September 30, 1941 the son of G. Gordon and Dorothy (Hobbs) Bruce.
Gordon graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1959 and the University of Maine in 1965. Gordon served in the US Army and US Navy. He attended Kansas State University graduating in 1981 with a MS degree. He was a horticulture educator for many years. Gordon enjoyed fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of Franklin; son, Timothy Bruce of Portland; daughters, Leah Ott of Wales; Rebecca Gobel of TN; grandchildren, Andrew, McKenzie, Julia and Thomas Ott, Evan, Anna and Owen Gobel, Quinn and Sadie Bruce; and sister, Ann Bruce of Bar Harbor. He was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours will be held 4:00PM-6:00PM, Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth with a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM, Monday, August 24, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 231 Main St. Ellsworth with Father Scott Mower, Celebrant. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ellsworth Contributions in Gordon’s memory may be made to the Emmaus Center, P O Box 11, Ellsworth 04605
