Rita Frances Linscott , 81, died May 8, 2016 in Ellsworth. She was born in Lamoine, January 6, 1935 the daughter of Merle F. and Josephine A. (Luchini) Linscott.

She graduated from Ellsworth High School class of 1953. The following year she married Sidney Linscott. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. After raising her children, she went to work at the Ellsworth Hospital, working in the maternity ward. She also worked at Willey’s for fourteen years and enjoyed selling clothes and meeting people. She and Sidney wintered in Florida in later years and when they got bored they worked at the Greyhound Race Track. Their happy times were going out to eat, the more the merrier.

Rita was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Ellsworth and a long time member of the Kebo Golf Club playing with the Women’s Twilight League on Wednesday’s nights.

She is survived by her husband Sidney; daughters, Susan M. Wilson and husband Lawrence of Ellsworth, Mary Ellen Cummings and husband Gerald of Rapid City, SD; son, James Linscott of Hancock; 5 grandchildren, Benjamin M. Wilson, Christopher M. Wilson and wife Lori, Jeremy J. Linscott, Gerald Cummings III, and Courtney Cummings; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Christine Linscott; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Joseph A. Linscott; sister, Teresa L. Sargent; granddaughter, Jamie Lea Linscott.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin Street, Ellsworth with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
