Obituary for R. Dean Morang

Ellsworth
R. Dean Morang, 65, died February 14, 2013 at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor. He was born in Bar Harbor, March 28, 1947, a son of G. Edgar and Charlotte E. (Robbins) Morang.
Dean grew up in Bar Harbor and graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1965. He married Ellen W. Willey, June 3, 1967 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Bar Harbor. He attended the University of Maine, Machias and graduated in 1970 with a BS degree. Dean worked for Bangor Hydro. He was a gun and Hot Wheels collector, loved Nascar and going to the races at Louden, NH. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at camp and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Ellen; son, Robert D. Morang and wife Brandi of Ellsworth; daughter, Amy M. Pidhurney and husband James of Auburn, NH; grandchildren, Amber, Reese, Carson, Spencer and Charlotte; brother, Edd Morang of Bangor; nephews, Jesse and James Morang; Aunt Sal and Uncle Al Robbins of Salisbury Cove.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Holy Redeemer Church Catholic Church, 21 Ledgelawn Avenue, Bar Harbor with Father John O’Hara Celebrant.
