Obituary for Prescott Hobson Briggs Jr.

Prescott Hobson Briggs, Jr., 91, died December 2, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Sullivan, August 26, 1923 the son of Prescott Hobson and Florice (Havey) Briggs, Sr.
He donated many years of community service. He was trustee of Sumner Memorial High School and school board member for SCSD for many years. He was president and treasurer for Doane’s Point Cemetery when it started, manager and engineer for Long Pond Water Company, changed to Long Pond Water District in the 70’s and was manager for 15 years. He was a 50 year member of the David A. Hooper Lodge #201, Blanquefort Commandary #013, Ellsworth, Acadia Chapter #31 RAM, Ellsworth, Bangor Council #5 R&SM, life member of the Hancock County Shrine Club, Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor, Anah Shrine Lobster Boat unit past treasurer and lighthouse keeper.
Prescott was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Helen E Briggs, March 25, 2000. He is survived by children, Sally Daley, Cynthia Burnett, Prescott Briggs III (Scotty), and Chris Briggs, 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and many other family members and friends.
There will be a Masonic Service with a reception following at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 14, 2014 at David A. Hooper Lodge, Bert Gray Road, Sullivan
