Obituary for Pearl C. Hardie

Pearl Calvin Hardie, 78, died November 09, 2011 at a Blue Hill hospital. He was born March 16, 1933 in Little Deer Isle, the son of James and Alice (Shepard) Hardie.
Pearl worked very hard as a lobster fisherman, scalloper and caretaker, caretaking on Bear Island for many years, where he lived most of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Evelyn Carter Hardie; his children; Barbara Bray and husband James, Sr., of Deer Isle, Christine
Ebert and husband Robert, Sr. of Blue Hill, Pearl K. Hardie and wife
Diane of Sunset and Phyllis Hardie of Ellsworth; 6 grandchildren;
James Bray Jr., Calvin Bray and friend Carrie Brown, Daniel Bray, Robert
Ebert Jr. and wife Crissy, Jessica Ebert and friend Greg Jones and Jason J.
Hardie and friend, Kaitee Fraughton; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, 5 brothers: James, Winslow, Martin, Carl and Wolcott; sister, Lillian Webber, and granddaughter, Cathy Sue Bray.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Nov. 19, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch in Sunset. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Sunset.
