Obituary for Oliver Bradeen Doane

Oliver Bradeen Doane, 88, formerly of Milo, died November 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Old Town, August 09, 1926, son of Ralph and Myrtie (Bradeen) Doane.
Oliver grew up in Passadumkeag and attended Old Town High School. He served in the US Marine Corp in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. After returning to the United States, he and Ethelyn Curneal were married in 1951 and resided on Gould’s Ridge in Passadumkeag. Oliver worked as a forester for the mill in Great Works which took him to Milo where he spent most of his life. After retirement, he was instrumental in setting up the Milo Water Works. He enjoyed painting, sketching, and had a great love of carpentry and traveling in the RV.
He is survived by his daughter, Gloria Smith and husband Douglas of Otis; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ethelyn.
