Obituary for Nancy C. Weaver Mello

Topsfield, MA.
Nancy (Carroll Weaver) Mello, 75, a longtime Topsfield, MA resident, died peacefully on Mar. 14, 2012. She was born in 1936 and raised in Southwest Harbor, ME the third daughter of the late Philip T. and Melissa (Farnham) Carroll.
Nancy graduated from Pemetic High School where she played basketball and percussion in the band. She was also a cheerleader and a member of the Glee Club. Nancy also graduated from the University of Maine, Orono and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was the loving wife of the late Earle R. Weaver and Joseph F. Mello.
After Nancy’s first husband Earle died, she raised four children and taught pre-school in Topsfield, MA for twenty years. Later in life, she married Joseph Mello of Peabody, MA and retired with him in North Port, FL. Nancy loved traveling and camping with Joe and playing bridge and SKIP-BO with her friends and grandchildren.
Nancy was the beloved mother of sons, Scott R. Weaver and wife, Stephanie of Newburyport, MA; Philip T. Weaver and wife, Carlene; daughters; Cynthia L. Celso and husband, Benedict of all Topsfield, MA. Kimberly A. Silbor and husband, Paul of Honor, MI. ; four stepchildren and their spouses: Joseph F. Mello Jr. and wife, Gretchen of Ipswich, MA; Robert W. Mello and wife, Debra of Springvale, ME; James E. Mello and wife, Suzanne of Malden, MA; and Elizabeth M. Mello of Kingston, NH. She was an adored sister of Sally Fernald and husband, Allen of Camden, ME; Judy Stockbridge and husband, Joe of Surry; Anne DeGolyer and husband, Don of Southwest Harbor; She will be missed by her nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Besides her late husband’s she was predeceased by her sister and husband, Candy and Robert Aikman.
A Memorial service will be held 7pm, Thursday, Mar. 22, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Topsfield, MA. A Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, Mar. 24, 2012, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Southwest Harbor, ME. Interment will be at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor.
