Obituary for Michelle Hisayo DeFazio
ELLSWORTH
Michelle Hisayo DeFazio, 84, died October 4, 2011 at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born in Okayama, Japan, May 1, 1927.
Michelle owned and operated a restaurant in Hawaii from 1962-1974. She worked at Courtland Rehab & Living Center in Ellsworth for many years retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene whose members were like family to her.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan M. Guthrie of Ellsworth; sister, Emiko Fujioka of Japan; several nieces; and a good friend, Marjorie Pinkham. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent F. DeFazio in 1979; and son, Thomas V. DeFazio in 1989. The family would like to thank the MCMH ICU staff for their kindness shown to Michelle.
At Michelle’s request services will be private. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. Arrangements in care of Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin Street, Ellsworth, ME 04605.
