Obituary for Mary L. "Buffy" Hodgkins

Surry
Mary “Buffy” Lorrayne (Curtis) Hodgkins, 62, died November 19, 2011 at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. She was born March 28, 1949 in Norristown, PA, the daughter of Ralph and Loretta Curtis.
She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1966 and attended Machias State Teachers College. Buffy worked as a teacher’s aide at Surry Elementary School. She graduated from EMVTI with an LPN degree and later from St. Petersburg, FL. as an RN. She worked for several years in Florida and Arizona as an RN.
Buffy worked as a psychiatric nurse at BMHI Bangor (Dorothea Dix) for 25 years. Her patients adored her and confided in her.
Her family was everything to her. She loved to spend time at the beach with her children. Buffy loved animals and always had pets through the years.
Buffy is survived by her husband, Robert Hodgkins of Surry. Her children, Kinnane Hodgkins of Waltham and Bobbi Hodgkins of Surry. Her granddaughter, Nevaeh Hodgkins of Waltham, her sisters: Kim Foss and husband, Steven of S. Portland and Terry Higgins and husband, Steven of Surry. Her brother, John Curtis of Surry, her niece, Nichole Chan and husband, Victor and baby Jordan, of Ellsworth, nephew, Travis Higgins of Ellsworth and many family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents.
Friends are invited to call 4:00-6:00PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
