Obituary for Mary Elizabeth Giles
Mary E. Giles, 84, died September 22, 2009 at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born August 15, 1925 in Ellsworth the daughter of Sterling B. and Virginia S. (Pinkham) Wescott.
Mary was a member of the United Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Rodney Sterling Whalen; a sister, Josephine Warren and brother-in-law, Kenneth E. Jordan, all of Ellsworth; special niece, Karen Mulhern; nieces Trudy Clarke and Gena Alvarez; nephews, Tommy Jordan and Mark Wescott. Mary was predeceased by her parents; sister, Priscilla W. Jordan on March 17, 2006, and brother, Thaddeus P. Wescott on April 3, 2006.
Graveside services were held 11am, Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth, with Rev. Scott Conners officiating. Those who desire may make contributions in Mary’s memory to the Collier’s Rehab. & Living Center, Residents Activity Fund, 33 Birch Ave., Ellsworth, 04605.
