Obituary for Mary E. Bryant

Ellsworth
Mary E. Bryant, 84, died at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, February 12, 2015. She was born February 19, 1930, in Ellsworth the daughter of Henry D. and Elizabeth (Linnehan) Mahon.
Mary graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1948. For many years she worked for the New England Telephone Company, Hancock County Court as a Court Officer and Deputy Sheriff, and Bangor Hydro Electric Company until her retirement. She was a member of the Bayside Grange and the New England Telephone Pioneer’s. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going to Sylvia's with “The Coffee Group”, volunteering at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, and was always knitting.
She’s survived by her son, Thomas A. Kirby and his wife, Patricia of Ellsworth; stepson, Nelson Bryant and his wife, Anna of Henrico, VA, and their children Kathryn, Michael, and Amy; stepdaughters Janet Wick of Brunswick, ME, and her predeceased children Matt and Andy, Maureen Langfore and her husband, Bruce of Brunswick, ME, and her children Chris and Tim; grandchildren, Andrew Kirby and his wife, Brittany of Presque Isle, ME, Matthew Kirby of Savannah, GA, Stephen Kirby and his fiancé, Amber Gray of Ellsworth; great-grandchildren, Laynee and Landon Kirby of Presque Isle; nephews, Jonathan Mahon and his wife, Michelle of Ellsworth, Joey Mahon and family of Madisonville, LA; nieces, LizAnne Mahon Woods and family of Durham, NC; close friend Karen Mulhern; and lifelong neighbor, Alice Cloak and family. Mary was predeceased by her husbands, Thomas A. Kirby and Hillis Bryant; nephew, David Mahon; and niece, Mary Louise Mahon.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mary Mahon Scholarship Fund in care of Michelle Mahon P.O. Box 1525 Ellsworth, ME 04605.
