Great Cranberry Island
Louise B. Strandberg, 80, of Great Cranberry Island, died July 1, 2013 at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth. She was born October 18, 1932 in Boston, a daughter of Thomas P. and Susan B. (Borland) Brooks.
Louise grew up in Concord, MA, attended Concord Academy and in 1955 she earned her B.S. in Education and a degree in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University. Louise belonged to the Great Cranberry Island Congregational Church, and Great Cranberry Island Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, helping out with local elections, and enjoyed the Island life.
She is survived by her children, Nicholas Lobkowicz and wife Marjorie of Vinalhaven, Louisa Mead of Southwest Harbor, Thomas Lobkowicz and wife Amanda of Boulder City, NV, and Gillian Lobkowicz of Granville, OH; stepchildren, Ted Strandberg of Gardnerville, NV, Victor Strandberg and wife Susan of Carson City, NV; grandchildren, Nicole Wasserman and husband David of New York, NY, Hope Leahy and husband Timothy of Portland, OR, Dominik Lobkowicz and wife Samantha of Waldoboro, Sean Parady of Mt. Desert, Tia Parady of Mt. Desert, Henry Lobkowicz, John Lobkowicz, and Thomas E. Lobkowicz all of Boulder City, NV; great-grandchild, Sol Olivia Wasserman of NY; and sister, Rosamond McDowell and husband Putnam of Westwood, MA. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Carl Strandberg in 2000; brother, Thomas P. Brooks, Jr in 1945.
A time of remembrance will be announced at a later date.
Contributions in Louise’s memory may be made to the Great Cranberry Island Fire Department.
