Obituary for Lewis "Hilton" Holmes

Bass Harbor and Foley, AL.
Lewis “Hilton” Holmes, 91, a native of Bass Harbor, died peacefully April 22, 2014 at his home in Foley, AL, surrounded by his family.
Hilton was a graduate of Pemetic High School, class of 1941. He was enlisted in the Army Air Corps. from 1942-1945. In his retirement he returned to Bass Harbor and worked as a lobster fisherman.
Hilton is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen, of 69 ½ years, two children; David Holmes and wife, Ann of Foley, AL. and Karen Godbout and partner, Jan Beal of Bass Harbor and Nokomis, FL.; one grandchild, John D. Godbout of Cleveland, OH.
A memorial service was held at Kingdom Hall, Foley, AL on Friday, April 25, 2014. A graveside service will be held, 10:00AM, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at McKinley Cemetery, Bass Harbor. Those who desire may make contributions in Hilton’s memory to Community Hospice, (Attn: Mary), 1320 N. McKenzie Street, Foley, AL. 36535.
