Obituary for Lenora Francis Wheaton

Waltham and Swans Island
Lenora Francis Wheaton, 89, died September 18, 2015 in Bangor at the Maine Veterans Home. She was born April 27, 1926 on Swans Island the daughter of Lester and Helen (Borland) Stanley.
Lenora was a lifelong resident of Swans Island and Waltham. In addition to the full time job of wife and mother, she served in her community in many ways. She worked in each of the island Post offices at part time Postal clerk and was Town Clerk for well over 30 years. She loved the lord deeply and served him faithfully as a teacher of Sunday school and vacation bible school as well as the church organist for many years. She had been a past member of the Rebecah Lodge of Swans Island.
Lenora is survived by a son Edward Wheaton and wife Betty, of Pittston; daughter Helen Harriman and husband Steve of Waltham; grandson John Wheaton and wife Deborah, of Ipswich, MA. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Wheaton and three brothers, Ralph, Hugh and George Stanley.
A private committal service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Swans Island. A Celebration of Lenora’s life will be at a date to be announced.
