Obituary for Lawrence E. Kane

Lawrence E. Kane, 54, died October 7, 2011 at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born July 12, 1957 in Portland, the son of Kyran P. and Marlene M. (Leighton) Kane.
Lawrence was always a helpful, loving and caring man who was very generous. He had an appreciation for all animals.
He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard, where he honorable retired after 22 years.
Lawrence was employed at the Hinckley Company and had worked for John Williams Boat Company, Mt. Desert as a diesel mechanic.
He was a Nascar fan for many years and a Dale Earnhardt admirer.
Lawrence is survived by his father, Kyran P. Kane and step-mother, Linda of Everson, Washington and by a special friend, Wendy Mayhew of Hancock.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
