Obituary for Kenneth Earle Jordan

Ellsworth
Kenneth Earle Jordan, 84, died March 20, 2012 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born in Lamoine, September 28, 1927 the son of Earle O and Alice Smith (McKeown).
Ken was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. He worked for New England Telephone Company retiring after 30 years. He and his late wife of 56 years, Priscilla, enjoyed traveling and wintering in FL. He was an avid sports fan. He loved to hate the Red Sox or was it hated to love them? He was a proud owner of a “100th Anniversary Fenway brick”. Ken was a member and served on the board of the First Congregational Church, UCC of Ellsworth, the Lygonia Lodge and served as Past Master, Anah Shrine, Ellsworth Rainbow Advisory Board and life member of the Telephone Pioneers.
He is survived by his son, Tommy E. Jordan and wife Dawn of Ellsworth; daughters, Trudy Jordan Clarke and husband Bruce L. of Hancock, and Karen J. Mulhern and husband Charles of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Jayne Bowden and husband David, Susan Coffin and husband Travis; great-grandchildren, Brody Bowden, Gavin, Cruz and Miah Coffin; brother, Gerald D. Jordan and wife Mildred; sister-in-law, Jo Warren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Priscilla; brother, Ronald Jordan and wife Beverly.
Ken’s family would like to thank the nurses of the Maine Veterans Home, Unit E. that was his home for the past two years. One of the nurses told the family that “you could go in, sit down, and talk to him about anything”. The staff became part of the Jordan family.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the First Congregational Church, UCC of Ellsworth. Spring interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery.
