Obituary for James Ranquist

SWANS ISLAND
James “Sammy” Ranquist, 71, died June 4, 2012 at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor. He was born December 19, 1940, a son of Charles and Nellie (Kent) Ranquist.
Sammy is a veteran of the United States Army, was a member of the IOOF of Swans Island and volunteered at the Swans Island Library. He enjoyed dancing and visiting with his friends and family.
He is survived by his sisters, Rosalie Ranquist, Beverly Turner, Betty and her husband, Rodney Tozier, and Elaine Overlock, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Frederick, Elbert, Herbert, Charles, Carlton; sister, Freda Ranquist.
Visiting hours will be held 10:30-11:30, on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Atlantic Baptist Church, Swans Island where a funeral service will be held at 11:30. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
