Condolence: I was shocked and extremely saddened to read of Jim's passing. I knew him only briefly at Mountain View School. I was there the past 3 years as the G/T teacher. Jim was always very friendly and never failed to acknowledge my presence in the building which is very nice for itinerant staff. He also agreed/offered to be the spelling bee judge and did it most competently!
I do not know any of Jim's family, but I felt compelled to let you know of his brief but impressionable entry into my life. My most sincere sympathy to you all.

Condolence: Hello Bob, You probably don't remember me but I worked with Jim for 2 yrs. at Toledo Blade. Teaching became my second career. Jim was my mentor there my first year. My wife and I came by your home after hurricane Charley to check on Jim. (we also lived in Deep Creek). I remember when you guys decided to move. We moved 1 year later. I have fond memories of FL, TB, and Jim. God bless you now, and always. Sincerely, Mike Bower

Condolence: Mr. Corey taught me English in 8th grade at 5th Street Middle School. Our class was in one of the "trailers" in the rear parking lot because of our class population swelling. I remembered Mr. Corey as a very talented teacher with a passion for his student's achievements. I remember him telling the great stories of his travels which inspired many of us as well. Glad to have had him in my life.

Condolence: Jim Corey befriended me as a transfer student in my junior year at Farmington State College. I became one of his fraternity brothers a short time later. Jim was always very friendly and giving. He was always smiling and happy. I haven't seen him since graduation several decades ago but I will never forget Jim Corey.

Condolence: Can begin to explain the impression that he has left on his students. At age 41 I can still recall things I learned from him, listening to the Annie sound track, his golden retriever coming to school with him, the memories are endless. So thankful I saw him a little over a year ago. Much love to Bob, thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.
