Obituary for James A. Corbett

James “Jamie” Arthur Corbett, 36, died June 23, 2012 in Seal Harbor. He was born in Bar Harbor, April 28, 1976 the son of James William and Suzanne Marie (Cough) Corbett.
Jamie graduated from MDI High School in 1994. He worked summers during school and after graduating at the Epi Sub Shop for the Wert family whom he was very close to. In 1995 he went to Stowe, VT and worked at a ski resort where he enjoyed snowboarding. He followed the ritual of the Epi in the summer and ski resorts in the winter. In the winter of 1996 he worked at Lake Placid and his favorite job was in 1997-1998 at Lake Tahoe at the Home Wood Ski Resort teaching snowboarding. Then, in 1998 Jamie started year round at the Epi Shop. After a few years at the Epi, he went to work for Peter St. Germain where he learned carpentry skills. Jamie was currently employed by Falt Builders Inc, in Northeast Harbor. Jamie’s family and friends were the most important thing to him. His passion was both snowboarding and motorcycling.
He is survived by his parents; sisters, Julie C. Malloy and significant other Daniel Drake of Bar Harbor and Gouldsboro, Theresa C. Fronczak and husband Jason of Trenton; maternal grandmother, Sylvia Young Cough of Bar Harbor; nieces, Taylor Malloy and Belle Fronczak; nephews, Joshua, Elijah, and Abraham Malloy, Brody Fronczak, who were all very special to him; aunts and uncles, Richard and Heidi Cough and Steve and Ann Cough all of Bar Harbor, Tom Cough and Rhonda Gilman of Bucksport, Edward Corbett, PHD and wife Gerry of Brunswick, June Corbett of Sanford, FL, and Ruth and Dwayne Jenkins of Ellsworth; ex-wife, Sloan Smith, of Salisbury Cove; special cousins, April Hansbury and Andy Cough; and many other cousins and special friends, too many to mention. He will be sorely missed by his canine friend, PJ and feline friends, Marshall and Tyler. He was predeceased by fraternal grandparents, Arthur and Dorothy Corbett; maternal grandfather, Bernard K. “Sonny” Cough; and uncle, Pastor Arthur “Reds” Corbett.
Calling hours will be held 5:30-7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St. Mt. Desert. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 28th at Holy Redeemer Church, 21 Ledgelawn Ave. Bar Harbor. A reception to celebrate Jamie’s life will follow at Kebo Valley Golf Club, Bar Harbor.
