Obituary for Irene M. Dodge

Blue Hill
Irene Mae Dodge, 68, died November 9, 2011 at her residence. She was born April 23, 1943 in Blue Hill the daughter of Henry R. and Hortence M. (Peasley) Astbury.
Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed school sports with her family and being outdoors. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and listening to blue grass music. Over the years she raked blueberries and made wreaths. She was a life member of Halcyon Grange and past member of the Rebekah’s.
Irene is survived by her husband of 51 years, Peter of Blue Hill; sons, Charles Dodge and wife, Susanne, of Cape Rosier and Errol Dodge, and wife, Lori, of Blue Hill; one daughter, Julie Carter and husband, Wayne, of Mariaville; A brother Larry Astbury of Surry; sister, Sandra Warren of Sedgwick; 6 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother David Astbury and a sister Linda Moon.
Friends are invited to call 6-7:30pm, Friday, Nov.11, 2011 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Funeral Services will be held 1pm, Sat., Nov.12 at South Blue Hill Baptist Church, South Blue Hill with Rev. Sara Huisjen officiating. Interment will be at South Blue Hill Cemetery.
