Obituary for Harry E. Triplett

Harry E. Triplett, 86, died December 19, 2011 in Bar Harbor. He was born May 11, 1925 in Jeffersonton, Virginia, the son of Leonides and Nannie (Spilman) Triplett.
Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.
He enjoyed gardening, hiking, and living on MDI. He was an avid democrat and supporter both locally and state wide.
Harry was a member of St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church, Nature Conservancy and the Natural Resources Council.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Lucy (Pica) Triplett of Otter Creek. Three step-daughters, Lisa Tweedie and husband, James, Karen Shields and husband, Dwayne, all of Bar Harbor and Jan Gee and husband, John of Almont, MI. One sister, Nancy Wood of VA, six step-grandchildren and one niece and one great- nephew.
Services will be announced in the spring.
Contributions in Harry’s memory may be made to St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church, 41 Mt. Desert St., Bar Harbor or to the MDI YMCA, 21 Park St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609.
