Condolence: Dear Freda & Family - I can only imagine the heartache of losing a husband of 61 years, but I do know the sadness of losing a father and my heart goes out to you all. My Dad was a harsh judge of character but he thought the world of Howard - we all did - and counted Howard as a true friend. I have so many memories of their shenanigans - oh, those Dunn boys! - and times spent with the whole gang of Dunnns, Currys, Pages, Murrays, Joneses. That crowd knew how to have fun! Childhood in Rumford Point would not have been the same without the Dunn Family, and Howard & Freda granted me a little bit of heaven when they sold me the camp at Howard Pond. I'm sorry that I could not attend the service of remembrance for Howard but please know that my thought are with you and I carry visions of Dad and Howard on the clam flats or blueberry fields somewhere in a wilder, bluer yonder.

Condolence: I can't find the words to say how much the world benefited having Howard here on earth with all his goodness and kindness. It is definitely a kinder and more loving place because of him....and by the way, healthier and more beautiful because of his sharing the bounties of his green house.
.

Howard and Freda
life long sweethearts, soul mates still
until forever
.
Howard a teacher
the apple of Freda’s eye
apple fresh in thoughts
.
Howard’s telling jokes
can you hear angels laughing ?
stars twinkling response ?

Condolence: May I express my sincere condolences to Howard's family on his passing. I remember Howard as superintendent during a transition period in our Rumford schools when I and others disagreed often with him at school committee meetings. Howard always acted professionally, but more important, respectfully and as a gentle man with those who were in disagreement. He was a person to emulate. May God be with you. I do believe a person of Howard's character will be well taken care of now.

Condolence: May the Dunn family be surrounded by the love of family, friends, and community during this difficult time. Mr. Dunn was my principal at RES from 1982-1989. Though I was only a child, I remember Mr. Dunn as a principal who was fair, dedicated, and compassionate. Just as easily as he could be the stern disciplinarian when matters called for it, he was always good about praising students for a job well done.

Condolence: Our family was saddened to hear of Howard's passing. He was like a second father to all of us growing up in Rumford Point and nothing seemed to shock him.
He mentored us with his kindness and generosity. I remember his wit seasoned with wisdom and treasure a lifetime of memories of a special "Dad" who made a big difference in all our lives. Love and prayers to all your family.
