Obituary for Gunther H. Meyer

Gunther H. Meyer, 95, died December 9, 2010 at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, July 29, 1915 the son of Paul Carl August and Johanna Lisetti (Ziegeler) Meyer.
Gunther served in the German Army during WWII. He was employed as an industrial engineer during his working career. Gunther was a gunsmith and enjoyed boat building and loved to sail and travel. He especially enjoyed the time he spent in the city of Hamburg, Germany. He was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, of Ellsworth.
He is survived by Dorothy, his wife of 20 years; son, Chris Meyer and his wife Wendi of Lamoine; brother, Werner Meyer; sister and Claire Keil both of Hamburg, Germany. He was predeceased by a daughter, Christel.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth with Pastor Burton Lowry officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
