Condolence From: Sherry Smith-Cousins
Condolence: George Smith, what can words ever say about such a wonderful cousin and friend...it is so hard to put him and his personality into words. He brought joy to children when he played Santa at the Elks Lodge Christmas for Kids. He brought great Joy to the children at the Elks Halloween for Kids. He brought great insight and joy to my grandchildren and showed Austin the joys of reading. George was my friend first and my cousin always. He will be so missed and has taken a big piece of my heart with him; however, as long as he is loved and remembered he will never truly be gone but live forever. Love you George and miss you

Condolence From: John F
Condolence: During my first 3 years teaching Theatre at Pomperaug High School in Southbury I developed a student-teacher relationship with George. He was, by far, one of the most dedicated and industrious behind the scenes backstage worker that I have encountered in my many years of teaching Drama. Because of George's hard work and the long hours that he put into building sets, running lights and audio, Pomperaug soon became known in the community for outstanding theatre productions. During those years I developed a friendship as well with this quiet but thoughtful person who was instrumental in helping build the foundation of what became the Pomperaug Drama Program. It is with great sadness that I learned of his recent passing. Heartfelt condolences from my wife and me go out to the family of George. He is remembered. -- John and Vyki Sabo
