The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Freda Hibbard can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Pam Coates Painter
Condolence: I was so sorry to hear of Freda's death. I have so many wonderful memories of sunbathing at the Somesville dock, visiting with Mrs. Hibbard, and our many bike rides to see each other. I had lost contact with Freda in recent years. My prayers and thoughts are with the family as you celebrate a life well lived but too short.

Condolence From: Patricia ( Dickey ) and Bruce Backman
Condolence: We have wonderful memories of our cousin Freda that include a visit to her New Jersey Family for Thanksgiving 11/2009. She loved her Aunt Frances and wanted to visit her since it had been so long. Even though Jersey and Maine cousins didn't see each other often the Dickey Family always had a strong bond. Bruce and I are spending time in Winter Harbor. Our plans were to visit Freda but we were too late. So we will celebrate her life while staying in her favorite place-Winter Harbor. Dear Barbara and Skip, Nancy, Paticia, Freddie and Pat, We are so sorry for your loss. Patricia, Bruce and Family

Condolence: Freda was one of my first friends when I moved to Bar Harbor. I'd gotten a job at Fenton Law Firm. Freda was Bill Fenton's secretary - and a good one. She could type at a frenetic pace. She could braid rugs and sewed many of her outfits she wore to the office. She was a no nonsense hard working woman who could tolerate much but not without a subtle display of opinion only readable by those who knew her well. I'd lost touch with her after I left Fenton's. But I consider myself the luckier for having known her. To her family, my condolences and prayers.
