Obituary for Florence Berline Hardy

Florence B. Hardy, 85, died March 6, 2013 at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital with her dear friend and close companion, Mrs. Gigi Hardy by her side. Born in Brooklin on April 16, 1927, she was the daughter of Albert and Harriet (Bridges) Henderson.
Florence grew up in Brooklin and graduated from Brooklin High School in 1945. On January 01, 1950, she and Maurice “Bill” Hardy were married in Amesbury, MA. Soon after their marriage they lived in Cape Elizabeth for 5 years while Bill was in the service, before settling in Westbrook where they lived for the next 29 years. In 1985 they returned home to Brooklin. Florence was known for her ability to accurately recall important facts and dates about her and her husband’s family histories. She maintained volumes of family photos, enjoyed card playing and as a young girl loved to roller skate.
She is survived by several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband of 60 years, Bill; two brothers, Percy Henderson and James Henderson.
At her request no additional arrangements will be held. Interment will be in Brooklin Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Blue Hill Hospital staff for extraordinary care and comfort during her hospital stay.
