Obituary for Faye E. Kelley

Hancock
Faye E. Kelley of Hancock passed away on May 13, 2015. She was born on August 6, 1960 in Bar Harbor to Harold and Alice Lothrop.
Growing up the daughter of a boat builder on Gouldsboro Point, Faye gained her unwavering work ethic by lobstering at an early age. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1978 and married Kevin Kelley a few short years later. From there, Faye earned a license in Cosmetology and started her own business, Faye’s Way Hair Designs, which she operated for over 30 years. She would travel to nursing homes and personal residences to do hair for people in the comfort of their home. Faye not only made others feel better by making them feel beautiful, she also brightened up their day with her cheerful and friendly demeanor. In addition to her successful cosmetology business, Faye was also an Avon Representative for over three decades, founder of the Fairwind Traders Investment Club, serving as president for over 10 years, and an American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Member. Some of her favorite hobbies and pastimes included gardening, campfires, family gatherings, caring for others, chickens, camping, hiking, canoeing, cribbage, and puzzles.
Faye is survived by her mother, Alice Lothrop; husband, Kevin Kelley; children, Kirsten and her husband Matt Raven, Aaron and Jennifer Kelley; siblings, Gail Brown and Will Lothrop; as well as her beloved pets, Emmy and Jack; along with many dear friends and loved ones. Faye is predeceased by her father, Harold Lothrop.
Services will be held on Friday, May 29th at 2PM at the Union Congregational Church on Route One in Hancock, followed by a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery. Weather permitting, a celebration of life will be held at Tidal Falls with family and friends after completion of graveside services.
