Obituary for Ernestine J. Clement

Ellsworth
Ernestine J. Clement, 93, died March 15, 2015 in Ellsworth. She was born in Ellsworth, March 12, 1922 a daughter of Herman and Anna (nee Doyle) Jordan.
She grew up in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School. She worked at J J Newberry’s, and then went to work for the telephone company as a switchboard operator for 35 years. On May 28, 1955, Ernestine married Robert E. Clement in Bucksport and they were married for 59 years. She was a member of the Ellsworth Congregational Church, Telephone Pioneers, East Surry Extension Group, and Castine Grange #250. She enjoyed reading, knitting, rug making, needlepoint and spending time with her family. She was a real homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Ellsworth; daughter, Sandra Gaudette and husband Troy of Ft. Worth, TX; two grandsons; one great-grandson; brothers, Rodney and Calvin; two sister-in-laws, Elsbeth and Marsha Jordan; five nephews and two nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Charles.
A memorial service will be announced in the spring.
Contributions in Ernestine’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
