Emma was born on June 28, 1932 in Detroit, MI; graduated from Marmaduke High School in Arkansas in 1949; and from Michigan State College (now University) in 1955. She attended Eastern Baptist Seminary (now Eastern College), where she met and later married Oscar E. Remick in 1959. An advocate of women's education, she had been an active member of P.E.O. since 1969 and was a founding member of its Chapter K in Maine.
She is survived by her three sons, Mark and wife Nancy of Trenton, John of Los Angeles, CA, and Paul of Cleveland, OH; as well as 5 granddaughters, Amy Remick, Megan Remick, Leah Remick, McKenzie Hunt-Bankole, and Amanda Day; grandson, Benjamin Atwater; 2 great-grandchildren, Eli and Savannah; nephews, Mike and Joel Jones; nieces, Jan Studdard, Julie Tilden, Andrea Tilden, and Sarah Warner; and sister-in-law, Loretta (Remick) Tracy.
