Obituary

Sullivan -- Elizabeth “Libby” Joy, 80, of E. Sullivan died peacefully at her home on January 26, 2019 after a
brief battle with cancer.

Libby owned and operated “A Touch of Maine” where she was often found painting, roofing or making wreaths. Libby was strong and had a kind, generous heart. She never gave up on those she loved. She was always able to strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel as if they’d been friends for years. Her legacy of kindness and hard work will be carried on by those whose lives she touched.

Libby was a devoted mother to her six kids, David, Diane, Donnie, Doddie, Tim and Thom. She was lovingly referred to as “Nanny” by her more than 20 grand and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her longtime partner Russell.

A Celebration of Life will be held February 9, 2019, from 3-6 pm, at the David A. Hooper Lodge located at 132 Bert Gray Rd. in Sullivan.

Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth

Dear Family,
We were both very saddened to hear about Elizabeth's passing. She was a exceptional member of our community. She was a loyal customer and friend. She was always had a great story to tell of her artistic endeavors such as gathering those red twigs. She provided a great service to the area around the holidays with her wreath shop. I purchased many rings, boxes and ribbon there and was always thankful she made them readily available. I taught some of her grandchildren and thought them the finest kind of kids! Many thoughts and prayers of sympathy! And many thoughts of gratefulness for a life well lived!
Sincerely,
Dave and Mary Seward
