Elizabeth “Beth” Liscomb, 96, died January 12, 2016 in Bar Harbor, after a brief illness. She was born May 11, 1919 in Bar Harbor, the daughter of William J. and Flora S. (Tripp) Clatworthy.

In her earlier years, Beth enjoyed hooking rugs and sewing. She was an active member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, where she organized rummage sales for many years and volunteered at the church bazaars. Beth was a life member of the MDI Auxiliary, where she volunteered for many years at the hospitals front desk. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Jessup Library summer sale food table.

She is survived by one son, Peter Liscomb and wife, Elizabeth “Betty”; one daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” Hackett and partner, Stan Short, all of Bar Harbor. Two grandchildren; Jeffrey Harding and wife, Kristi and Kelly Latuscha and husband, Joseph and extended family members. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Eleanor Raynes. Beth was predeceased by her husband, Horace Liscomb, two sisters and three brothers.

Memorial services will be held, 11:00AM, Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Bar Harbor, with Father John Skehan celebrant.

The family would like to thank the staff of MDI Hospital, especially the ICU nurses for Beth’s exceptional care during her brief stay.
